Stripped Screw Head on Grip Screw

I accidentally stripped the torx screw head on my 1911 grip screw. Anybody know how I can get the screw out?

Did you try any allen wrenches to see if they will fit inside the damaged hole?
Next is the old punch and hammer to tap it loose counterclockwise method, then the drill the head off method.

I tried an allen/hex wrench that did fit, but it would slip. I stopped there and left it at that, didn't want to risk stripping the head even more.

Try to find left-handed drill bits and drill counterclockwise on the head. Might want to stabilize on a padded vise or something. Adjust drill to lowest speed and max torque (if available). Make sure you push down hard and go slow. If you're unsure, get a smithy.

An extractor set will also work.

If you have a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel disc, you can carve a flat head slot out of the torx head, just by carving a straight notch in it. I have had to do this on many things in the past and it has worked each time. That solution may scratch up your grips though.

JB Weld or 5 minute epoxy an allen wrench to the screw and once the epoxy is set, unscrew it.

Thanks for all the tips guys! Unfortunately, I don't have a dremel. Going to try the epoxy method, before I bug my buddy for his tools.

Good thing it was a 1911 and I just happened to have a few grip screw bushings.

Now I have 23 grip screws with nowhere to go. I don't trust them for anything.

Those screws must be really junk or you're over torquing them.

I'm going to guess the one screw that stripped is defective. This was the first time I touched the screws; these are all brand new screws on a brand new gun. Only 1/4 had a problem with stripping. I was actually very surprised I stripped them, because I barely tightened it.
