10-rd 1911 magazines

I'm thinking about getting some Chip McCormicK 10-rd magazines for my .45 and wanted to ask how reliable are these magazines. Does anyone have any experience with them can tell me if they get feeding problems with the 10-rd magazines but not with the 7 or 8-rd ones? thanks.

100% reliable but surprising how far they protrude out the bottom of the grip, I thought i would use them more than i do. IMHO mostly suitable for competition not range days

I use Wilson Combat magazines (8rd and 10rd) - 100% reliable.

my metal form and CM power mags are all great mags.

I wouldn't buy anything other than Wilson or Chip McCormick for any 1911 mags over 7 rounds. I've had nothing but problems with my no-name 8 & 10 rounders. In fact, one of the 10 rounders only holds 9 rounds.

The 10-round CM Power Mags are great! As reliable as my Springer 7-round factory mags in my 1911a1 Loaded... but tis true that they protrude quite a bit...

+1 on the Chip McCormick powermag. I've shot approx. 150 rounds out of it from my rock island without a hiccup. And yes it does stick out a lot.

As with any mag for 1911's.. Go Wilson.. By far the best mag on the market and backed up for life... I don't have any 10 rounders, but have never had a problem with any of my Wilson's.. Like all mags they do wear out. Wilson will replace them when it comes to that... Usually at around 20,000 rounds...

Work great, easy to load, and consistent. It's nice that they are pre-beveled to fit magwells.

Sold all 5 of my Wilson 10 rd. mags. Feed lips spreading. In fact, I got rid of all my Wilson mags for McCormicks about 3 years ago and haven't looked back. Well over 30K rounds.

CMC Mags are well known to be quality mags. I have several,(Shooting star, Power mags 8 & 10rd.) They all perform great. Every so often you have to replace springs do to wear but its nomal for all mags. Get the CMC's, you'll be happy you did. I have Wilson mags too and truth be told the CMC's are just as good or better and cost less.

I enjoy the my 8 round Wilson magazines as well as the colt 8 round magazines.

Be careful with any of the mags you buy.

When you are at slide lock, doing an agressive reload with a 10 round mag more than one pistol has been jammed from pushing the mag too far up.
You can blow right by the mag catch.

There are a few cases of this happening with standard size 1911 mags pushed past the mag catch on compact 1911 back up guns during gunfights.. Usually ended up badly

That is exactly why I only use Wilson Combat 10 round magazines in my 1911's. I shoot IPSC matches and the Wilson Combat magazines have been very reliable.

Notice the little metal stopper on the Wilson Combat 10 round mag. It prevents you from shoving in the magazine too far up. You still need to be careful if you have an oversized magazine well.
