    Problems with my P226 Decocker

So I picked up a preloved P226 from a calgunner a couple of weeks ago. While inspecting it at the shop I noticed that the decocker disengaged the hammer much lower then on my new P220. I purchased a parts kit from Top Gun Supply thinking that a fresh set of springs would bring it back. After the parts swap the decocker is worse then it was. It's now disengaging the hammer at the absolute bottom of the stroke.

What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

That's not normal on a 226? Both my 226's disengage at the bottom?

      Though I don't own a 220 so can't compare them two. But that's how my 226 work.

Haha, maybe there is something off on your 220 (for better or worse)? I don't have a 220 to compare either.. but my 226 also disengages on the bottom. If you're really worried about it, maybe you should find someone in person that is knowledgeable on this topic.

That is perfectly normal. All my SIGs (6 owned) dropped the hammer when the decocker was pressed all the way down, over the magazine release button. The P220 is the only SIG I've ever seen that decocks much faster and a bit louder.

Ok glad to hear it. The only experience I've had with a decocker is with my p220. It's weird that sig builds them that way but who am I to judge.

Ditto this. I handled a 220 in the store and couldn't believe the decocker (compared to my 226). It put me off the 220 honestly, though I'm sure I could get used to it.

well that perked my interest enough to actually dig out my 226 to compare it to the 220 sitting next to me.

the 226 does require longer travel before it de-cocks the hammer, not as long as the travel on my P6, but definitely longer longer than my 220 or 220ST

I have an older, folded slide 220, and a newer 229. The 220 decocks very quickly, and has a much more positive feel to it than the 229. The 229 decocks near the end of the travel, and the decocker feels very loose.
