    Sig 220 Dark Elite

Does anyone have any feed back on the 220 Dark Elite? How do you like it?

The 220 Elite is a solution looking for a problem. Namely the beavertail. Some people actually like the beaver, but I had a 220 Elite and actually found the beavertail forced the gun higher in my grip, thus increasing the bore axis and increasing muzzle flip. Unless you have ungodly large hands with huge webbing, I'd stick with the standard 220 if that's your thing. SIG likes to charge quite a bit more for things that look cool but do nothing.

Thanks for the feed back. How did you like the SRT?

The SRT is cool, albeit with the negative it moves the breaking point of the trigger further back toward your palm. Otherwise it's great for a DA/SA. If I'm not mistaken, the SRT can still be purchased from SIG (or on the used market) and drop-in installed.

I got to shoot a Sig 220 Dark Elite recently. I thought it a great gun. The alloy frame makes the recoil a tad more noticeable than, say, the felt recoil on an all steel 1911. Can't say much on the beavertail hand size bore axis muzzle flip, as I'm still a novice shooter with medium-sized hands. A more experienced shooter watched me and suggested I make a few changes (bend forward more and straighten the arms (to let the shoulders take the recoil)). His advice helped me to hit the black.

EDIT: I was recently informed that I shot only a regular P220 Elite. Still it's a fun gun.

I'm one that likes the beavertail on the P220 Elite. I have one and love the way it fits and feels in my hand. I have a set of the Sig aluminum grips on it which does help during rapid fire. IMHO, great gun and very soft shooting 45.

What else can I tell you, it's a great gun.

The combination of the beavertail, srt trigger, short trigger, front cocking serrations, aluminum grips make it hard to beat.

However, if I had a choice, I would go with the P220 Stainless elite. The stainless frame really enhances the shooting experience IMO. It minimizes recoil and muzzle flip, and helps you get back on target a tad faster. You will notice the difference if you shoot the 2 side by side.
