    Anyone else shoot 10mm???

    Or is it just me???

I've been shooting 10mm for a long time now and have seen the "rise and fall" so to speak of the 10mm in popularity, and have began to notice a slight increase in interest in the shooting community.

I'm currently using a Glock 20, and Corbon 165gr. JHP.

    Anybody else? What'dya got???

I've got both a S&W 1006 and a Kimber Eclipse Custom II in 10mm. Too big for carry purposes and too powerful for IDPA, but I like both.

Use Double-Tap when I want the real feel of 10mm.

        I shoot 10mm out of a S&W 1006.

Love the gun. It's getting wood Hogues soon.

I used to think bad things about S&W autoloaders, and I'm not sure the mass-production 40 guns used by the CHP are that solid. Turns out the full-size 10mm (1006, 1076, etc.) and 45ACP (4506) are great guns, very very durable and accurate. A huge change from the Bangor-Punta era 645 I had back in early 90s.

Haven't fired the hottest loads yet - the Miwall loads and the Fed & Rem loads seem to be "40 strong" perhaps instead of full-house 10mm.

I do have to try DoubleTap ammo.

I will be getting a G20 soon off a buddy. What 10mm ammo is good and what is bad? because he also has an assortment of ammo he want to trade for .223 ammo.

Yeah, I've been wanting to pick up some Double Tap 200gr., I've never shot the stuff, but from what I hear it is closest to a "real" 10mm load not just a hot .40s&w.

I use alot of Corbon, thats what the local place here in town has available mostly, but I do like the Winchester Silver tips, and the El Dorado Starfire I think it is, for defensive purposes.

I also have some original boxes of the Black Talons in 10mm stashed away for those times when I feel like going old school!

Don't shoot it that often, ammo's a little too expensive. I've been using Doubletap ammo, the 180 grain fmj at 1250 fps.

Like you, I also own a G20 but it doesn't get as much love as my G19, P229 in 40 & 357 Sig & USPC 45 due to expensive ammo. But that same G20 sits inside a Multivault box next to my USPC 45 as my 2nd go to pistol.

I really dont understand the fascination with this round. It is not common, hard to find ammo anywhere, not a lot of manufactures make 10mm pistols. What is so special about the 10mm??? Id like a serious answer, please elaborate.

Excellent ballistics, in particular external and terminal, for a start. It offers near-.41 Mag performance at the high end, and .40 S&W performance when downloaded. (The .40 Short&Weak basically got started as a 'Special' version of the 10mm.) This performance comes in a reasonably-sized package. You can hit the zone on an IPSC target at 100 yds. from prone with no hold-over.

Not to mention that 10mm aficionados are generally very knowledgeable and just all-around good people, eclipsed, if at all, by only the .41 Mag folk.

                            Colt Delta Gold Cup

I've had a Colt Delta Gold Cup for about 8 years and shoot it once in awhile. If the ammo cost the same as .45 ACP or .40 S&W I would shoot it more often. Maybe I need to start reloading.

It is a great gun and a lot of fun to shoot.

This thread reminds me of a time way back before OLL when Wes was putting together a Kimber group buy and I was contemplating a Kimber 10mm...

So, no I don't have a 10mm yet, but soon. Maybe a Glock 20 or a Kimber Stainless.
