    Handgun registration?

My brother just picked up his Beretta 92 after waiting the 10 days. Does he need to carry something with him to prove that its in his name?

No, but it's always a good idea to carry your HSC card.

Handguns are linked to the legal owners State Issued Drivers License or ID card.

Why? Just curious, I leave mine in the safe so it doesn't get messed up, it's only useful for purchases AFAIK

I don't know, I just like to have the ability to show my credentials if or when something came into question.

You don't need to show any credentials unless you're carrying concealed in which case you need your CCW permit.

Although carrying your HSC is not a bad idea in case you see a good deal in a gun store

the only reason I carry my HSC card with me is so that I can buy a handgun immediately, without having to go home and get it.

There is no need to carry an HSC card otherwise.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

FYI- If you have a CCW you don't need the HSC to buy a handgun...

Does that only apply to California CCW or Any State issued CCW? Just wondering because a friend of mines just received his UTAH CCW and wants to purchase a new handgun.

Maybe this would save him some $$$ from taking the HSC test?

CA does not currently honor any out-of-state CCW.

I carry my diploma just in case a job opportunity pops out of nowhere.
