    Oops...

Walked into SoCal Guns today and bought a Sig P228 9mm. A Swiss police trade in. I'm super stoked. First hand gun purchase. I researched tons of models and decided this was a good way to go. The guy let me look over several of them to find the one in the best shape. Paid $465 (about 500 otd). Now for the ten days of hell. Did I make a good choice?

Most definitely. Zurich P228s are a fantastic value for a superb pistol. Enjoy a lifetime of fun.

Never heard a bad thing about it.

P.S. I live in Santee also, let me know if you wanna go shoot after you get it.

P228 is on my list of guns to own. My LGS is supposed to be getting a couple. I'm not sure they're new or reconditioned but I'm sure hoping I will get one of them. Way to go...

I live right off Fanita. I shoot out in the Ocotillo desert and sometimes at P2K, although I feel some of the staff is less than friendly (some are way cool tho), and it's cheaper to get a car full of buddies, and drive to the desert and shoot whatever ammo/guns we want.

                Thanks for the kudos guys.

Ten years and half a dozen more guns from now, you'll be posting about your first purchase. Now we just have to make sure it's still our RIGHT!!

I sure hope it'll still be our right. Who knows, I've considered a move to WA for a few years now. It's just hard to beat the weather and the Mexican food of San Diego. Lame gun laws and costs of living < Great weather and Mexican food.

So on the Sig I bought, I will be replacing the sights and the grips. I'm not a big fan of the rubber ones it comes with, and the sights have seen better days. I might as well go night sights.

Cuervo's in San Diego is good eats.

I'm originally from Washington, one of these days I'd like to move back. But until I'm done with grad school I ain't going anywhere.

I've actually wanted to go back to Washington since I was forced down here because of a family move. Only since my recent affection for guns and gun rights have I REALLY wanted to return. Still, as long as I'm here I'll keep voting and fighting for our rights. Wouldn't be right otherwise.

Where is Cuervo's at? Best mexican place I have eaten at is Adalberto's off of Rosecrans. This decision was made after a 2 month long mission of finding the best California burrito in town.

If you go to SigForum (http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc...m/15810658/p/1), Todd at Customized Creationz will install night sights for free with slide refinish. When I ended up buying a swiss trade in, I got the frame and slide refinished and night sights installed. The night sights were 75 dollars and they were installed free with the slide refinish.
