Sig P220 grips

The plastic "grips" that the P220 comes with is so slippery, it doesn't have any grip at all.

I thought there would be alot of choices for checkered aluminum or micarta/G10 grips but I couldn't find anything online. And the Hogue aluminum grips are priced way too high(130 bucks?! that's double the price of nice 1911 grips!) I thought this would be easy as getting 1911 grips I just want some nice grips like the VZs ...

Any suggestions on who makes a nice checkered/grippy P220 grip that's less than 100 dollars? I don't like the look of rubber, but I might get Hogue rubbers if I can't find anything.

More than $100, but the best 220 grips around: Crimson Trace. I don't like aluminum grips, and I thought Hogue was coming out with G10 grips just like their aluminum ones.

Yeah, Hogue has G10 for the 220, but they are more than $100.

I imagine you have already considered these, but I love the soft rubber Hogue grips. Have them on a couple P220's, and a couple of Para's. Can't beat the price too...

how could grips for a Sig be priced comparably to the slabs on a 1911. grips made to fit a Sig have to form a backstrap over the main spring assmbly...that would mean you'd have to start with 3 times the raw material in G10 before machining started, plus the additional shaping for the backstrap and the additional checkering.

if you're just interested in a bit more grip, you might look at the Hogue recheckered plastic grips.

Consider the Hogue aluminum checkered again...

The Hogue checkered aluminum grips for Sigs are expensive, but they really work well in providing a firm grip. The checkering is fairly aggressive, and the grips do not slip in your hand at all. I have two pairs, one on a Sig P220ST, and they work better than any wood or micarta grips I have seen. They also look good and are more durable than wood or micarta.

Hogue rubber grips are awesome IMO.

VZ makes a pretty good (albeit aggressive) grip for the P226. I imagine it wouldn't be too long until a 220 version comes along.

P220 Grips

I am a very big fan of Hogues on S&W wheel gun but somehow they just do not do it for me on a semi-auto. Good luck and if you are interested in a P220 Carry new 2/09 and shot once with 50 round please give me a call. I'll sell the P220 and grips for $800 to you. That package cost me $1220...
