    Smith & Wesson Model 5906

I was looking at this police trade in pistol. I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with the model 59, is it worth the price ($330). This will be used for HD and the range.

If it doesnt have to be a 9mm, here is a 4043, in 40 cal for $270.

S&W autos are very reliable and underrated, IMHO. I have a 459 (2nd gen) and I have fired the 5906's, excellent pistols.

Great guns! I have their little brother, the 6906 and i have fed it exactly 950 rounds of FMJs through it without a single FTF/FTE/any other issue.

Center mass @ 30yards is no problem for it, the 6906 is no tack driver (for my newb skills at least) past like 10yards, but its a great small gun. I'd image the larger 5906 would be even more accurate

Great pistol... I love my 3rd gen Smiths. I have both the 4566 & 4006... solid guns with a lot of rounds down the pipe. I actually use my 4006 for IPSC, accrute and reilable.

Only two issues with the Smiths... it's weight and the trigger. Took me a little work to improve the creep of the trigger, but once that was done... it was solid.

            Good luck!

I used to own one and sold it after a year, I regretted it ever since.
Good gun. Reliable with HP and LRN or whatever was on sale.
              $330.00?
              Do it.

This is what is on the list: 5906TSW / Stainless Steel Pistol 4" 9mm 12/31/2010

Is that the same gun that AIM has for sale? If so I am going to jump on this.

Had one for a while, no complaints. I personally dont like the look of them. But as far as form, fit, and function they are great.

Seems like a good deal. But don't forget they won't ship with mag. So you need to find 10rd mag somewhere either. Last time I check it was PITA to find 10rd mags or rebuild kit for Smith's semi. Don't know if that has chanced.
