One handgun per 30 days question

I am not quite through 30 days since my last purchase, however there is a really good deal online that I am looking at. My question is, if my FFL is willing, could I purchase the gun, have it shipped to my FFL, have him hold on to it until my 30 days is up, then DROS it? Is it the initial DROS date that is the benchmark, the pickup date. or what? I hope this is possible so I don't lose out. Thanks

    Initial DROS date.

    Ask the FFL.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

If your FFL is willing (call him first), sure he could hold it until the 30-24hr periods from your last DROS submittal time is up.

30-day clock starts when the DROS is initially submitted.

As for if your FFL will hold it til your 30-days is up, just ask him. I haven't heard of many dealers tht wouldn't, expecially if they transfered you the first handgun.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

My favorite FFL has lots of guns in their safe for customers just like me, uh, I mean, you. This is a common service provided by many FFL's.

FWIW, I did that a couple times last year...same as you, had to make the purchase prior to the calander being right... Was no prob with my FFL.

I bought 4 handguns at the end of last year and am still a member of the gun a month club , Worst part was picking witch one to get when.

You can DROS 1 handgun every 30 24-hour period based on submission time but you can pay for as many handguns as you like. Have the seller or your friendly FFL hold the non-DROS'ed handguns for you in the meantime.
