Sig P220R trigger conversion

Hello all,

Is it at all possible to convert the standard DA/SA trigger action on a regular P220R to the new Single Action Only trigger action available with the P220Rs now? I don't know what the difference in firing parts between the two is, just wondering if it is possible... Thanks.

P.S. I am not trying to start a debate on why mess with a good traditional setup, etc. Just wondering about the possibility.

Short answer - if it's a newer pistol it will have the necessary holes to allow the conversion. You'll be able to tell pretty easily by pulling off the grips.

was just at the range two hours ago trying out the regular P220 and boy was the recoil on that gun snappy! It was a beat-up range loaner but accuracy was on par with my custom 1911 so I don't doubt they are shooters. I think I will look and see if I can find a range with the all-stainless version of the P220 and see if the additional weight will help tame it. Great gun though, but may not be for me ergonomically.

I shot an alloy P226 and a stainless P226ST side-by-side not too long ago, and the weight does make a difference.

Yeah my range had two P226s side by side, one stainless, one regular... Too bad they were "for sale" guns so I couldn't rent them to shoot.
