    Bought my GP-100 today!

Found my blued, 4", adjustable sight, .357 mag GP-100! Anothergunnut pointed me to River City Gun Exchange, which has a few on the shelf...thanks, agn! Can't wait to pick it up!

Whilst I was at RCGE, a buddy of mine picked me up a 3-die set for
    .38/.357. Now to buy components!

Gotta say it was a good day.

Oh, yeah...I'll throw down a few glamour shots once it gets home! First, though, gotta run a few down the pipe. Everyone loves a drrty grrl.

RCGE is great. They were swamped today, though...man, looked like the day after Obama got elected.

Good choice man, I love that gun. Really solid and very attractive design.

I have one of those myself (okay, I bought the shiny version)! Bought it new about 2 or 3 years ago. I've not counted how many rounds it has sent downrange. Immediately changed the front sight to one 'o them orange colored ones sold out of Midway (can't recall the maker). I liked the factory grips, but just last year changed them to Hogue.

It is my only revolver and gets used a lot, even for IDPA.

I bought one right when they came out (1986?). Great gun. I shot it regularly for 20 years without a single hitch. Couple years back I traded it for a rifle I just had to have. Kinda wish I hadn't now...

Good choice. I have the same 4" adjustable sight GP100, only in stainless steel version. The GP100 is one of the guns that I trust my life on.

Can't go wrong with a 4" GP100 unless you're buying another one in different barrel length. When folks say they are built like a tank, believe it.

I have a SS 4" with a High Viz front sight and a Pachmayr grip I also changed the trigger and hammer springs and did some polishing here and there and now shes real smooth and easy to shoot . This is one gun that I will keep until I can,t shoot any longer. Redhemi

congrats. It'll do you well. I have one in 6" SS. Only fault I can really put on it is the front sight.. which can easily be remedied with some Hi-Viz. I'd also like to recommend dry firing over and over to get the springs worn in. My GP def shoots better today than it did outta the box.

                        Congratulation!!!!

Good gun and excellent taste you have! I am always intrigued by a blue GP 100. They are rarer to find than the stainless which are all over the place. I have a 4 inch stainless bought it brand new in February 2009 from AAA Sporting Goods in Vallejo, and she's a keeper, more than my Colt 1991!

Congratulations on your purchase of a 4" Blue GP100.
I have a 6" Blue version that was my final purchase from the Old Sacramento Armory
before they closed their shop. Great shooter.

The only mods I've done to my GP100, was to paint the back
of the front sight blade "Red" for faster sight acquisition on a target,
and installed Hogue rubber grips for better grip control for my hands.

                          Enjoy!

Thanks, guys! Now that it's been mentioned, yeah...a more colorful front blade would be an improvement. Before I go with a replacement, tho, think I'll try some of the sight paint...kinda give it a test drive.

Dry firing...guess snap caps aren't necessary to prevent damage?

Naw, the thing is a tank. Dry firing is safe.
