    XD 40 subcompact

I finally got a chance to take the XD40 subcompact to the range. It doesn't hold open after the last round. Is that how the XD performs or is there a problem with mine?

I just shot an XD-40 subcompact the other day and it stayed open after the last shot. I don't know a whole lot about them, but I do know the one I used had the slide lock back after the last shot was fired.

Ok, looks like after some research; it may be my thumb activating the slide lock. I have big meat hooks so I guess I have to take a look at my grip and adjust it.

I was just getting ready to suggest that. Make sure your thumb is not resting on the slide lock. The XD has a nice little reference point/thumb groove below the slide lock to place your thumb.

Quick question re XD's...I don't know where I got the impression that these were for LE only, since I see a whole bunch of them on the CA safe list... At any point in time were XD's limited to LE only?

The XDm models are LE only right now unless you can find one to PPT

same here, I did that on a Glock 26 multiple times before figuring it out.
