    Springfield Armory EMP

i finally got my new EMP from my FFL and i wanted to show it off before i even took it to the range

the mags are sized just right for my Ranger 127gr +P+

i can't wait to see how it prints on paper. i've always know about the reliability issues of the 1911 platform with barrels under 4.25"...slide mass, recoil spring tunnel and dwell time...but my understanding is that Springfield addressed these issued when they downsized the EMP to use the 3" barrel.

    we'll see

if you're interested, there are additional pictures in the Gallery: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...=1#post3827646

Recoil is easy on these. I got a set of grips from Sarge today and put them on tonight. I had very bad light for a photo but I will take some better shots this weekend. I love my EMP

I was going to post the info on the flush fit mag floorplates but I see you've got a nice photo up - get it done or do it yourself? I think it's much more in line with the pistol to have flush fit, had two of mine done & left one as is.

Love those EMP's. I have both the nine and forty. Tell me more about the flush fit floor plates.

A guy in Corona, CA did it for me. He can be found over on 1911forum.com and goes by the handle Log Man. He does great work. $20 for the mag work and 5 for shipping. I sent him one and I carry the stock mag in my mag carrier. I had it back in about 3 days. You loose one round when you do this but makes it easier to conceal!!

looks like a great gun. I wish I could pick one up myself.

They are nice and very hard to come by. If you find one, buy it because it won't be there when you come back.
