    S&W Model 28 Grips.....

My dad gave me a Model 28 Highway Patrolman a few years ago and I hate the grips on it. They are rubber and do not seem to fit right. Any ideas of a wedsite that sells decent grips? I don't mind rubber but I am willing to look at wood also.

http://ahrendsgripsusa.com/ (look at the retro target grips) , Hogue makes some nice wood grips http://www.hoguestore.com/ . http://www.herrett-stocks.com/roperlrg.htm (some old school revolver grips).

      Don't forget the S&W forum.

They have factory grips available if you post a WTB ad there. I've found some ridiculously cheap factory grips on their classifieds section.

I just put Hogue rubber monogrips on my Smith K-frame 66-2, and I like them a lot. It is a one piece design, that fits my hand better than the wood checkered target grips. They're really comfortable to shoot even with Magnum loads.

I'd like to get some wood combat grips from S&W one of these days though - I like the look of polished wood better than black rubber. I just couldn't pass up on the Hogues since they were only $20.

These blast points - too accurate for sandpeople. Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise.

My approach was to use the old Smith service wood grips and a Tyler T grip. The T grip fills in the front of the grip well enough, I think it looks good too.

GunBroker and EBay pretty much always have Smith factory N frame service grips for sale. The Tylers can be ordered on line.

I have grips on my 27 and 14 by Calguns member Kurac.

He's also on the S&W forum. The ones on the 27 are lignum vitae.

^^^This^^^ is nearly a perfect solution for many hand sizes. The factory Magna grip, shown below and sometimes called the service grip, along with a grip adapter, makes even N frames point and shoot very nicely.

The larger target grip, shown below, works well for larger hands.

I'm looking for a pair for my model 28, I really like the walnut ones that Snafu150 posted the picture of in the top of his picture.

Smith and Wesson sells some nice grips on their webstore:

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"

"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"
