Should I be doing something different?

Alright guys ever since I was a kid I have done just about everything left handed besides writing. So I am left eye dominant and shoot rifle and shotgun lefty and for the last couple years have been switching between left and right hand for pistol shooting. I shoot just as well with each hand wich a lot of my LEO buddies call a gift. While I do shoot just as well with either hand I feel WAY more comfortable holding a handgun in my right hand. In my left hand I often find my self re adjusting my grip. So should I just accept it and keep on trucking? Or Should I just start training back everything lefty or righty? I shoot rifle just as well right handed and shotgun trap just about as well BUT I feel WAY more comfortable and smooth with my movements shooting lefty. Like I said a lot of my buddies said they wish they could do that and what not but sometimes I feel it's a pain because I want to get in to IDPA matches soon here and don't want to start bad habbits early. I'm wondering if it's bad to shoot pistol RH with a left eye dominance? I do like shooting pistol RH because I can keep my pistol holster on the right hip and rifle on the left for faster transitions .

I still use my dominant right eye when I shoot left handed. I don't shoot as well left handed as I do right handed, but I still can hit the black.

same here. a lefty with left eye dominant. i can shoot pistol or long arms with optics with either hand. long arms with ironsights i have to switch to the left side. for pistols either hand as long as i aim with my left eye.

I just don't want to start out shooting again right handed for pistol and realize I should have just stayed lefty because I shoot everything else lefty. Or find out I should be training right handed haha.

I'm wondering if I would run into any problems shooting my pistol right handed with dominant lefty eye but both eyes open?

I'm in exactly the same spot. I shoot lefty exclusively, except for sidearm. I use a modified weaver stance and shoot right handed using my dominant left eye. It feels natural and comfortable. BTW, Shooting a sidearm is the only thing I do right handed.

No worries there Mate! It's a matter of personal preference.

I'm right handed and left eye dominant. I've been told by a few shooters at the ranges putting single ragged holes into their targets to try to shoot right eyed, right handed. Went horribly the first few trips to the range, but now it's on par with my left eye down the sights.

I figure whatever you practice and learn is how you'll shoot, either way.

With a long gun my movements seem so much less fluent. I feel like I move much better left handed with a long gun/shotgun. I train with my buddies that are on a narcotics task force n SWAT and I am up to par on my training with a long gun it's pistol wher eI lack but it's because I am not sure wich hand to use because I feel more comfortable with the right hand but am left eye dominant :/ .

Nope, and actually both eyes open if the best way to shoot. Unless you need
                      to squint for "Target shooting"

Thing is I can shoot really well either way but I feel WAY better shooting rifle and shotgun lefty and I feel WAY more comfortable shooting handgun right handed. Is there a problem with shooting pistol right handed left eye dominant? I don't get it I'm weird :/ I also shoot a bow lefty and fish lefty...

Cool I do shoot pistol with both eyes open but sometimes when doing fast transitions I find I need to squint my other eye just a bit using either hand or either eye dominance.

I'm sitting here toying with my glock drawing from each side and hand and I feel more comfortable right handed but I do notice when I draw from my right hand I find my self using my right eye and I don't feel uncomfortable with either eye on the pistol I can switch back and forth between eyes on the pistol and it does not bother me man I'm weird... I do know however lefty on a rifle or shotgun handles MUCH better for me... I feel cumbersome and sloppy doing righty on a long gun...
