    Magazine Question

I searched and couldn't find anything on this, but I disassembled my magazine and when I went to reinstall the spring and put on the metal plate that fits on the end of the springit popped up and so the plate that should thread through the end of the spring is somewhere in my room.

I know I should have threaded the spring to the plate and then put on the lower bump stop but I couldn't thread it in. This is for a Beretta 950 .25acp mag and it didn't want to go in.

I reinstalled the lower plate to the bottom of the magazine with the groove and it seems to work fine.

QUESTION: Does anyone know if I really need that extra plate that threads to the end of the spring and what purpose it serves. I'm thinking that it protects the springs dirt getting to the springs at the bottom of the mag when it is dropped.

    TIA

That locks the base plate onto the magazine body. Without it, the base plate can slide off and dump all of your ammo. I know it's a small piece, but how messy is your room.

Yes you need the plate, it locks on the base plate and allows for disassembly. Now go clean your room!

I know. It flew into an area where my duffle bag was and a bunch of other crap. I did clean my room, looking for that little bugger. I was using my surefire light and thought I could find it, but it's like looking for that other pair of socks. It's not around when you need it. I'll probally end up finding it but not sure when.

Home Depot sells a long magnet on a stick. That thing has saved me many times when I loose small metal parts in the carpet.
