Hi-Point magazine question.

So.. I just picked up a Hi-Point .380, and I have a quick question.

Do the .380 and 9mm share the same magazine? The reason I ask is that the magazine for my .380 seems a little big, yet fits 9mm perfectly.

Is this just another way Hi-Point keeps their prices down? It seems to me all the extra room in the mag may cause feeding issues...

Yes, they use the same magazine for both 380 and 9mm.

No, the barrel is still chambered for the shorter .380 round.

From the looks of it I would also guess yes. Perhaps they make all 9mm magazines. .380/38cal/357/9mm all have the same diameter after all.

Remember that all of these rounds are the same diameter, but the weapons are probably not set up to fire more than one of them. The exception typically being a .357 magnum which can also fire .38 special. However, magazines, cleaning rods, etc. can be interchangeable.

So do you actually have a problem feeding the .380? Maybe you should try it to see if there really is a problem.
I haven't read of any complaints like this on the HP forums..
But yes, HP uses the same mag for both.

No you cannot shoot 9mm out of 380 Hi Point. If you wish to do so, keep an eye on gunbroker.com. One used to be able to purchase the upper fro GB for dirt cheap. Though the gun itself is cheap enough, just go buy one.

I thought .380 and 9mm had different case and bullet diameters... I learn something new every day.
