Glock Mags, anyone had to replace the spring

Wolf sell replacement springs and i'm sure you can get some from glock but really has anyone ever had to replace them because of being worn out?

I have never had to replace springs and some of my mags are fully loaded in my Glock.

I generally change out mag springs at the same use intervals as I change the recoil spring, 2K m/l rounds.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

i had a spring in a glock 21 10 round mag get weak it would nosedive the last round and not hold the slide back

its kind of weird too since i have way older g17 pre-bans that are still going strong but they have a kind of copper colored spring and this one was a really silvery almost nickle colored one i bought a wolf spring but now i can only get 9 in the mag but they all feed so it looks like i'm doomed

i can either use the weak spring that will hold 10 but only fire 9 of them jamming on the last one or use the wolf and only being able to squeeze in 9and have it lock the slide back on the last one

maybe i bought the wrong spring

I had the glock 22 with tac light issues. I would suggest the ISMI springs. They have held up really well.

A few of my high capacity glock magazine springs needed replacing.. I use them for competition and as such I normally only load 10 rounds. The one time I tried loading to full capacity, somewhere around the 3rd or 4th round into the magazine, the gun kept jamming with failures to feed. Turns out the spring was getting too weak and not getting the next round up and ready in time.. Most magazines will demonstrate this 'dead spot' to some degree and it's on those particular rounds, you'll likely have your problems if the spring is worn.

Simple swap with some Wolf extra power springs took care of it. Like I said, I shot competition with those things. They saw A LOT of cycling. After that incident I tested all my magazines and only 1 consistently caused feeding issues. I replaced the spring on this one as well as several that also seemed "weak".

I doubt anyone is going to argue that it's not a good thing to keep your magazine springs 'fresh', but I'd be skeptical of anyone who said I needed to do it every few thousand rounds.

No. I've found Glock mag springs to be pretty resilient, especially the G17 mag springs which are known to last forever. However, I do hear a lot of armorers say that they recommend replacing the mag springs every 2k rounds or so, at the same interval you would replace your recoil spring. I figure it can't hurt. Glockmeister sells rebuild kits that include everything you need.
