    Handguns exempt from roster

My Uncle out of state wants to give me 2 Hi Standard Pistols---one
is a Victor made in 1966, the other is a 106--Special Target Pistol. I know
they are not rostered--is there an exemption for certain "target" pistols?
    Thanks

Hi GM4SPD: Yes there is, it's on the Ca. Department of Justice website. You're looking for the list of exempt "Olympic" pistols. Here are the only Highstandards that are exempt:

HIGH STANDARD MILITARY TROPHY .22 LR
HIGH STANDARD MILITARY VICTOR .22 LR
    HIGH STANDARD SHARPSHOOTER .22 LR
HIGH STANDARD OLYMPIC ISU .22 Short

If you have a C&R your firearms may be on that list, but I don't have my C&R books with me.

Good luck, I hope you're successful in getting them.

    George

The Victor is exempt as an Olympic Competition Pistol.
