    Glock 22 .40cal??

one of my buddy's wants a Glock 22..my question isthis.. does the G22 has a supported chamber? I'm asking this because he will want to reload for it to keep the cost of target shooting it down a bit.....

The .40 Glocks do not have fully supported chambers (and neither do most modern autoloaders). However, this isn't a problem unless you try and make it into one. I wouldn't risk trying to shoot real hot loads through it, but there's no reason to be worried unless you're really pushing the limits.

Do they make those in a .40? Or are you telling him to convert it to 9?

If memory serves, Wolf does make a barrel in .40

I stand corrected, I just hadn't seen them before.

His handloads will be only target loads... no hot or near hot loads at all.....

The .40S&W chambers in Glocks are notorious for leaving the trademark "Glock bulge" on the brass casings. There will be a very noticeable bulge on one side of the brass after firing. When I handloaded with my G23, I got a Lone Wolf barrel for that very reason. If he is going to reload a lot for his G22, I would recommend just getting a Lone Wolf barrel in .40. I got mine for a little over $100 shipped for the G23, not bad at all.

Be sure to keep it reasonably clean to ensure proper lockup. The 9mm Glocks will tolerate considerably more neglect than the .40s.
