    Subcompact choice?

I'm looking for a subcompact 40S&W for a carry gun and the choices have boiled down to the Springfield XD Subcompact 3", the S&W M&P Compact 3.5" and the Glock 27 3".

I've never cared for the long trigger pull of the Glocks but does any of the other guns have a better one?

Anyone have any strong opinions on any of these guns?

I for one favor the G27. Its hard to beat the package this little pistol has to offer. 9 + 1 potent rounds, great trigger reset, durable finish, and arguably the most reliable of the three. Tons of after market accessories and options.

Will this be as a primary carry gun or a back-up? If it is a back-up I would use something that can use the same mag as you primary side arm....

Are you set with the 40s&w? The G36 is a great little carry gun.

I have the .40 in a XD subcompact and I liked it better than the block (er glock ) the springfield was just more of a natural pointer for me. Be prepared though, if this is your first handgun the .40 is MUCH snappier in the short 3 inch barrel of the XD

Long trigger pull? I have never heard anyone say that a Glock has a long trigger pull.

Personally I use a G27 myself. Only switch to a Seecamp 32 as my "tuxedo" gun.

One thing about the glock is you can use the regular 10 rounder mag and carry a high cap mag for a spare.

Thanks guys, it's not my first handgun. I have two 45's, a 44 Mag, a few 22's and a 40S&W already. My 40 is a full sized Steyr M40A1 and it has <1/4" of trigger travel compared to the 3/4" of my daughter's Glock 27.

Go with the Glock 27. It has been in circulation the longest and that attests to it's excellent design.

If you prefer a metal frame, go with a SIG Sauer P239 or S&W 3913.

                          trigger reset.

Trick with the glock is to get use to the trigger reset(which is shorter than alot of others) so you don't have to releasetrigger all the way each time you pull trigger.
