Help me pick a Walther P22

Can't decide if i want to get the OD green/blued, or the Smokey Black/brushed crome look. Like them both, just not sure which one I like better. Thoughts?

Also, is it worth getting the target model with the extra barrel and compensator? i know .22lr isn't something that generally needs a compensator, but if it's not much more, it could be nice to have anyways. what do you think?

EDIT: THE WINNER IS......OD GREEN/BLUED!!! THANKS EVERYONE!

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

Personally, I like the OD, especially if you're going to be using it out in the bush. Indoor urban range shooting, probably the black.

Target in OD. My only problem with the gun is the grip being so small.

Love the OD green. And as far the "compensated" model is concerned I don't believe that it is an actual compensator, although the extra little bit of weight at the muzzle can't hurt, I wouldn't see that as a selling point.

OD green FTW. Personally I think the target models aren't as good looking.
I'm going to shoot mine tomorrow, I can't wait.

Gotta love that camo look! I took mine to the Orange County range and the range master complimented me on walter p22.

They shoot ok.They function ok.Some people say they are crap and some people say they are the best ever.In my mind mine is a fun plinker and eats Remington golden bullets 95% of the time.Sometimes I get some jambs just below the feed ramp.I have been told that the better ammo makes them function better.Mine works fine for plinking and if I want a more reliable .22 I will use my Taurus .22 revolver which is very accurate for a .22 pistol.

My p22 does have the updated mags.

I had an OD model I bought back in 05. It ran great. Ate all ammo I fed her. Most of it was cheapo bulk pack Federal....out of a 500ct box I would get a few FTFs.
I traded her in a month or so back in anticipation of my move back to CA. I now have a Ruger Mk3 22/45 which seems a bit more picky on ammo. My P22 had a threaded barrel which is why I got rid of her.

If you read up at rimfire central - http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...splay.php?f=48 - you'll find you gain nothing w/ the longer barrel. I don't believe the CA approved models will allow a barrel swap either.

I have the all black one myself, but out of the two you are looking at, I like the black/chrome one better.

I have the all black one and it shoots 100percent of the time if you use good ammo doesn't like the cheap stuff much, the only thing I would have done different is I would have gotten the od green one, but then again I bought it for my wife so.....
