    Sig P220 trigger bar spring

I just purchased a used P220 and the trigger is pretty slow to return. The trigger bar spring seems pretty weak to me. I saw on a different site that they re-designed them and have a new spring.

Here's a link the the article:

Has anyone tried to use a newer design spring on an older pistol?

You can get one from places like Topgunsupply.com, they carry a lot of SIG spare parts. You should be able to remove the grip and install the new spring and re-install the grip. However, old grip does not work with the new trigger-bar return spring, so I would also suggest you to get a set of new grip from the same place.

Older type trigger return spring also have an issue of eating and elongate the hole on frame toward where magazine release plate is. I change out mine as soon as I can get parts in my hand.

+1 for TGS but their shipping might kill the deal for you. See what you need, then order all of it at once. I would suggest getting the whole kit and keep or replace what's needed:

Kit Contains:Recoil Spring Trigger Bar Spring Slide Catch Lever Spring Decocking Lever Spring Outer Roll Pin Inner Roll Pin (4) Grip Screws (4) Grip Screw Washers

CWM4A1 is right, some of the older grips will not work with the new style trigger-bar spring.

also to a good detail stripping down to the frame although not necessary helped my 220 out considerably. bost people dont do it because the sigs look like a pain to reassemble but they arent bad if you take your time and pay attention. i had YEARS of crap in it that made my trigger sticky and less than pleasing.

          Thanks for the replies.

I thought stripping the entire thing down, but I would like to have a blue print of it before. Does anyone know where I can download a good exploded view of this?

          Thanks
