    Private party transfer?

    Hello.

I'm pretty new to the gun world in California, having relocated from Arizona.... There are so many guns that aren't allowed in this state it almost makes me laugh. Here is my question... My cousin who is still in Arizona wants to sell me a gun that is not on the safe list. It's an EAA .38 special with the 4 inch Barrel. On the safe gun list site on the bottom it says "Private party transfers, curio/relic handguns, certain single-action revolvers, and pawn/consignment returns are exempt from this requirement." So does my cousin selling me the gun make it a private party transfer? or am I reading it wrong?

    Thanks!

If you cousin was a CA-resident, it would be a prive party transfer, a PPT, that would be exempt from the roster. But if your cousin does not have a CA ID/DL, the DROS system will not accept him as a PPT seller. It would have to be DROSed as a normal transfer, which is not roster-exempt.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Wow... that kinda sucks. Maybe I need to modify what I'm looking for then

Do you still holds Arizona license? Or you are official CA resident now?
Taiwan born, Chinese descent, red white and freaking blue America citizen.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.
