    Identify this pistol for ccw?

    .45ACP
    3" to 4" barrel
    Semi-Automatic
    On CA DOJ list
    THIN

Basically I'm looking for a good .45 semi for concealed carry. I already have a P245 but it feels a bit thick in an IWB and the 1911 I have feels like a brick. What's a good, single stack, thin .45 on the CA DOJ list that would be great for CCW?

    thin....45ACP....

the Glock 36 comes to mind, 8 shot capacity with a mag extension.

There are some Kahr models but I'm not familiar with them.

      XD45 Compact?

Maybe not quite as thin as others, but the compact has a very short grip and still holds 10rds.

Definitely the Kahr P45 or Glock 36.

How about a S&W CS45? Anyone know the thickness of it?

I love my glock 36. It is pretty thin and is easy to conceal if you are going to carry it. It is more accurate than I am and eats any ammo I feed it. Some people have had issues with the 36, but I think it was mostly the older models. My application has the Glock 36 and XD40 subcompact on it. Most likely the 36 will be my primary carry gun since it is easier to hide.

any single stack sub 4 inch 1911 like a Kimber Ultra Carry II would fit the bill.

Another vote for the Glock 36. I can't comment on any of the others from personal experience, but I carry the G36 every day and hardly notice it.

BTW... I carry inside the waistband with a Comp-Tac MTAC... I wear slacks and a dress shirt to work every day and I can tuck my shirt in over my Glock with this set-up.

Glock 36 is a great choice! Kahr p45 is good too, but to me it felt kinda snappy. CS45 is a bit bulky and the grip felt very uncomfortable. Also Glock 36 grouped best at 7yds out of all three of them.
Of course everything written above are my personal opinions on the guns I've handled/owned might be different for you.
Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

Considering 1911s, the Detonics CombatMaster fits the bill:
