    Crooked Draco

I just got my Draco after a long wait and rushed home to enjoy a good session of post waiting period fondling only to find out that the front sights are canted! Everything else works fine but the sights are noticeably crooked when you look through them. I am aware that these guns were not made for pinpoint accuracy, so is it worth it to go through all of the trouble to send it back for an exchange?

Mine looks kinda off, but how often are you gonna be aiming down the sights with that thing? I sighted mine in on monday, and only had to adjust elevation slightly. Windage was already set to compensate for the slightly-off front sight gas block.

I put a 2 point sling on it and can use the sling for a cheek weld when aiming down the sights, but I expect to be hip firing this thing more than trying to be accurate (though it IS pretty accurate).

Not to say that you should do this.....
But I've fixed many "slightly" canted sights with this:

The forend cap on my Draco was canted.
Didn't find out, until I was installing a Midwest Industries AK rail to it.

It's common to have something canted on any Romanian made AK. One of the reasons why they are so cheap.

              Hey Quiet,

Could you post a pic of your Draco with the rail on it? Would love to see how bad *** it looks with the rail.

              Thanks,

Thanks for all the comments guys...after even more fondling, it looks like rear site/front trunnion might be the one canted rather than the front site. The gun hand cycles fine, although a little tighter than my other Draco. Are there any other canted parts I should seriously worry about or are these things sooo reliable that even if a monkey put it together it will fire?

                    I've seen 4. All 4 had canted sights. 3 didn't run 100%.

Thanks. The pic may not grace the cover of Romanian Midget Gun Porn and all, but it illustrates the railed Draco quite nicely. I was also curious if one could attach at muzzle device, which you did so you answered that one too. Will the slant brake work on these as well?
