    HK USP Match (.45 ACP)

Is the HK USP Match (.45 ACP) an 'off-list' handgun?

How could I find an absolutely definitive answer?

The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

You may have to do what I did, build a clone out of a standard USP. Match sights and trigger can be found fairly easy. The barrel can be purchased from Jarvis, but the Match weight is gonna be the tricky part. They are a little on the rare side and go for about $300, give or take.

Here's a pic of my USP 45 Match clone:

hkparts.net will sometimes have the weights. They definitely have the sights and trigger. gunbroker has them once in a while too.

Prepare to wait for Jarvis. Really nice barrel, but they can take a looooong time sometimes. YMMV

I understand that the clone route is more practical, but I really want a genuine USP Match (.45 ACP).

Here is a follow up question, would a USP Match (.45 ACP) successfully make it through the DROS process as a standard USP as long as it did not have the extended barrel and barrel weight attached?

The gun must be complete unless its a PPT and then the list wouldn't matter.

Assuming the slide just says USP and you bought a standard barrel, had it put on and the other stuff removed before it was shipped here you only have one it will fall under (USP45, V1 / Steel, Polymer) ,so no stainless slide Match. Unless you want to also by a spare USP slide as wll. It must also be a Variant 1 So make sure it does not have an ambi safty.

It also depends on what the box/paperwork its shipped with says. Don't expect to have your FFL help with this. If they figure out what you are doing they will shut you down. Im not sure if there is a law you could be charged with if they find out you did something like this on purpose later.

Like others said....build your own or just wait for one to go up for sale in CA. Post under the WTB section. Some people are pretty hard up right now and will sell things like this to make a quick buck.

It's possible, and it's also possible that in having the piece shipped in you could end up not DROS'ing the piece at all./

Look for a PPT sale on a Match that already exists in Ca.

                FYI.
The H&K USP Match has been discontinued by H&K.
