    Colt Commander Grip Safety

My friend has a Colt Commander that has a worn grip safety and he'd like to replace it. Where can I direct him for parts. He really wants to stay with OEM (no after market stuff). Also, Is there a site that you can type in the serial number and get the year it was manufactured?

I'm not sure which style. I have the make, model and serial number but I have been unable to locate any parts or other info that has been helpful.

Its going to be difficult to find the correct safety without a pic and or which style you are looking for.

I was hoping there was a website or something to that effect, that I could use the serial number to get more info. If I can't find that I'll see about getting a pic.

          Thanks

Why not call Colt and ask? They may just send him one?

Maybe but it might be new stock as opposed to new old stock. Colt sold off alot of their extra stuff a few years back. Some rare stuff went. Like 9mm Colt troopers etc. Your best bet i to head on over to the colt forum and ask there. I have found many good deals on parts as well.
