By the way, declaring that they keep something in production due a CA roster issue and raising prices is something fishy (pretending to be righteous). I do not believe that Ed Brown or Bauer demanding premium for their CA approved models.
At $1500+ it still a very good value for the money. Take the cheapest 1911 you can buy, lets say a Rock Island, for about $499. Now add to it a bobtail, new bobtail grips, grip safety, nightsights, change the MIM internals, fit a match barrel, ... how much do you think would cost at the end?!?!? Now think about doing that to an entry level 1911 from a more popular manufacturer, Colt or S&W for example; you would start at least with a $800 gun before any of these features.

My point is, this gun is a very good bang for the money. I am not saying that because I am trying to sell one, don't buy mine. But, give yourself a chance to try one out and you will see it. I had my doubts before I bought it first - trying to decide between a Baer or the DW, I am glad I went with the DW!

Meaning that DW is trying to get the same profit margin ? In the end it's all about bringing the best return for company's owners or shareholders.
yes it is...those Czechs are getting very capitalistic aren't they

Not defending the Czechs, but they are not as greety as some others - Baers, Wilsons, Nighthawks, Browns... Look at Kimber's prices who sells thousands of pistols more than DW.

DW 1911s were underpriced for a while, on my belief, as marketing strategy to gain momentum and market share. Now they have that, BUT, still their prices is below what others offer for the same quality / features.

I was going to not say this out of politeness, but you've been going on and on about DW. You are a new member who signed up here to sell your CBOBs for a profit, I suppose because Californian pockets are deeper. Your only posts are in this thread and your for sale thread.

I love my PM7, but I wouldn't compare the finish and workmanship on a DW to a Brown or a Wilson. Sorry, custom is still custom.

No offense and I am sorry if I misjudged your intentions, but I call it as I see it.

You are correct, you have not misjudged my intentions at all. I am a new member trying to sell a CBOB for a profit, I wouldn't sell it otherwise. I do think you misdjuded about me comparing the CBOB to the Wilsons, Browns... These are close to $3000 guns, not $1600 guns. However, for $1600 the DWs are not far from these manufacturers you call "custom" - I call them semi-custom. I came here to offer a CBOB to sell for a profit, maybe someone will by it, maybe not. I don't need to sell them. But if someone is interested, they are worth every Dollar.

p.s. Congrats on your PM7. These are so nice too! I want to get a full size DW next, just for the range!

I bought SW performance center for 1300$ LNIB. Let's see if there going to be a shortage of CBOB at new prices.

No harm in that if you're honest about it

I wonder though how well DW pistols are gonna sell if they break the $1500 mark. Like the other guy said, I can get a top of the line S&W performance center gun if I wanted a smaller 45. Sure it is apples and oranges but the point is that there are plenty of guns under $1500 that are just as nice or better. DW guns were in high demand because they were underpriced. With the new prices, we'll see if they can sustain the demand.

Not worth it to me, I'd either move up or down in price.
$1200 otd is about my limit.

We each have different needs and wants. I personally don't care for any 1911 with FPB and external extractors. Some say that these features are fine and so, but not for me.

So here is my challenge, point me to a 1911 commander, series 70, Internal extractor, with no MIM parts, night sights, polished feed ramp, throated and match barrel, matched slide to frame, for less $1700!

Note that I leaving lots of the features that the CBOB comes from factory out of the chalenge - bobtail, Brown beaver, Brown slide stop, hand polished...

I don't have brand loyalty to DW, it just so happens that I have not been able to find anyother manufacturer to deliver what I want for their price.

I own SEVERAL custom 1911's Wilson's, Nighthawk's, Brown's, Baers the list goes on. I Would put these CBOB's in the running with these "custom's"..
To be quite honest I'm rather disapointed in the Baers, Wilson and Nighthawk pistol's. I was shooting several custom 1911's over the weekend mine and some friends and was not inpressed with any. My loaded out of the box springfield did better with feeding and ejection than 10K in custom 1911's. The accuracy wasn't no where near as good but that is not what matters if your 3K "Custom" stovepipes with 6 different manufacture of ammunition and several magazines. I ALWAYS thought that these CBOB's we're the Valtro type 1911's not noticed yet. Give me a choice between a Kobra Karry or CBOB.. I'm taking the CBOB's
