    Ruger P95 9mm

Turners' weekly ad has Ruger P95 9mm on sale for $299 and change. For my first centerfire handgun, I was at first set on .38 special or .357 mag, but now I'm more into 9mm pistol, availability of bulk ammo being one of the reasons in 9mm's favor.

I would have bought P95 from Turners in an instant BUT FOR AB962. I don't have the funds to stock up on 9mm ammo right now, and come Feb 2011, I won't be able to buy 9mm ammo without onerous paperwork and fingerprint. So, I held myself back from buying it this weekend. The situation totally sucks!

I check Calguns everyday hoping for the good news that AB962 has been repealed or struck down in court.

By the way, insofar as I researched, Ruger P95 is a solid gun. Anyone knows or experienced to the contrary?

You are really going to let AB962 keep you from capitalizing on that smoking deal that Turners has for the P95?

I might just break down and buying it on Tues, I don't know... I just can't stand the thought of getting hooked on my 9mm, and have the ammo supply get cut off next year.

It's not like ammo is not going to be available after next year.....start reloading if you are that worried.

With impure thoughts like that, you are allowing the antis to win. Don't let them dictate to you what you should or shouldn't be doing now.

You will still be able to walk into a store and buy 9mm. The only people who should be worried about filling in paperwork to buy ammo, are people who are up to no good. The rest of us have nothing to fear (apart from the tin-foil hat brigade). Inconvenience, Yes, but it's not the end of handgun ammo in CA.

That's a smoking deal. I already have a P89 or I'd jump on it. The "Brick" can shoot just about any ammo you feed it.

Dude I have a old school p85MKII and it's been nothing but reliable
I've shot mix of alluminum steel and brass out of the same mag
no problems whatsoever and ammo will still be available just a pita but available. I wouldn't let the ammo worry you too much but if you're that worried about it pretty much all hand gun ammo is in the same boat so buying a different caliber won't be any different
