Need Help- Thoughts on This Used Gun?

Hi guys- so I was hoping I could get some opinions from the more seasoned gun owners (than me) about this used gun below. It's at a local shop in SoCal. The owner said he thinks it's from the mid 90's and the previous owner only shot it a couple of range sessions, but that he hadn't cleaned it at all. So the shop took it all apart and cleaned it out perfectly. Any thoughts? Thank much!

If the previous owner never cleaned it, I'd check for pitting and rust. 15 years is a lot of sitting with no cleaning.

Thanks for the post. I just read through the link you posted. The gun looked super clean, and I didn't see any signs of pitting anywhere. I guess I am more concerned with the price for a 15 year old polymer 1911. Anyone have an opinion of value here?

IIRC, when I was at Iron Sight gun range in Oceanside a few weeks ago, they had a Wilson Combat 1911 .45 that was a polymer for $1395 and it was new.

I don't recall if it is the same model as the one you are referring to, but if so, you might want to give them a call and check it out. The same price for a new gun certainly sounds better than for a 15yr. old one.

Thats a Kimber frame, Wilson hand fits everything and IIRC those were only 1K new branded as the Kimber.
