    1911 Advice... Trp Operator & Nighthawk T3

Well, listed above are 2 of my favorite pistols.... The operator has the half rail and is probably the most accurate gun I have ever shot, the Nighthawk T3 is along side that but in a smaller package...

I was considering getting rid of the 2 and picking p a Nighthawk GRP or similar railed full size 1911 and paying off some bills in the meantime.... Am I going to be happy with the GRP I don't know much about it aside that I can get one new for around $2200, is the GRP going to make me as happy as the TRP? Any experianced advise would be greatly appreciated, I know plenty of you know your 1911's..

    Thanks!

Wow you have expensive tastes...I have a hard time paying over 1k for a handgun but over 2k no thanks....Maybe as a builder a little at a time. I personally could never have 5k wrapped up in two pistols. Just so you know I'm not a total cheapskate, I own Kimber, Sig, Beretta, Glock, and S&W. I know my Kimber isn't as cool as a Night Hawk or Operator but it has never failed once and it's damn fun to shoot. To your original question if you can't be happy with a $2200.00 1911 well you should be hog tied and p*ssy whipped!

Go with whatever makes you happy.

If you want me to take that TRP off your hands, I need another Operator anyway. Plus, I'm local.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

LOL, I know it sounds horrible but I have gone through my share of pistols... My former dream pistol was a Kimber TLE II but after owning 2 of them with a handfull of problems I gave up, the best Kimber I owned was a standard Custom II but that was my luck, there are many happy Kimber owners out there without a doubt but we can't win them all......

These 2 guns i'm considering trading are both perfection in my book but if I can have one and put $1500-$1800 towards my bills right now it would be a good thing and I don't sell my Sig's so that is not an option....

Hopefully someone here has a GRP and a TRP and can give me some advice...

ahh the age old dilemma of 1911s.
          Want my honest advice?

          DONT SELL ANY!
I own a wilson cqb rail, nighthawk talon, and colt series 70 with a full custom package, and used to own a trp.

I hate to say it, but I can't sell any of them.
And i know the moment i sell one, im going to regret it.
My best advice is to just save up and buy a GRP with a rail. THEN you decide if you like it or not, and get rid of the trp or t3.
Your 1911s will sell for the same whether you sell it now or later. don't rush it.

Ive shot a few different grps, both with rails and without and they're nice, but not 1,000 bucks nicer than a TRP. Gluck
