    Anyone have an Asp?

I was shown one about 30 years ago but have never come across anyone who knows anything about them. I was intrigued by the Guttersnipe sight.

Im guessing youre not reffering to the ASP tactical baton? Have one of those..But I dont even know what a Guttersnipe sight is..Now I feel dumb.
    Embrace the suck.

I bought one back in 1980.

It shoots well, is 100% reliable, and it's a great piece of bragging rights when you take it out of the safe.

The guttersnipe is a solution to a non-existent problem imo - you shoot with both eyes open with a conventional sighted piece and practice enough, you'll get first round hits in a defensive shooting scenario.

The teflon coating on the barrel hood scuffed up with the first 500 or so rounds, and looked like *** - my only complaint.

When they come up for sale they go for an amount far in excess to their actual value as a tool. The HK P7M8 isn't much taller, wider or longer and is just as reliable.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

I saw a used one for sale back in '94-'95 somewhere in Sacramento. It was way beyond my budget at that time. In hindsight I kinda wish I had pick it up for novelty's sake. The guttersnipe was okay. The advent of Novak's and the rest of today's modern combat sights did what it was attempting a lot better.
