    Hi-Standard Model "B"

I was thinking of selling this but I don't know much about it.

I have a 22 caliber Hi-Standard Model "B" Semi Auto Pistol (serial# 101xxx). This is blued steel with 4 1/2" barrel, original black rubber grips and 10-round magazine. This is a World War II vintage handgun possibly used for training.

I believe this is collector's item since it is marked "Property of U.S." with a logo which looks like a circle with two crossed paddles (Navy?).

Here are some images and a description:

    Current for sale here:

Anything else someone knows about this?

Nice guns...I had my grand dad's until a few years ago, when it was stolen.Mine had a longer barrel, wooden grips and was a model ''D''. Were I you I'd just keep it,as few modern .22's are as accurate.

      I love my plain-jane Model B.

I carried my old man's everywhere on the ranch when I was young. Now I have my own and both still shoot great 60+ years after production.

            According to www.histandard.info

This 22 caliber High-Standard Model "B" Type II Takedown was one of 14,000 made for the US government in 1942-43 as a training handgun. It was used in the Navy since I found the name of the original owner who used to live at Point Mugu about 35 years ago.
