I want to get my 11 yr old a .22 semi pistol that he would be shooting paper and maybe some light steel targets at. Any recommendations that others have gotten their kids. I was thinking about one of the Ruger target pistols that they have on the website. Any sugestions.

any of the rugers would be great. They are not the same company as they were before politically since junior took over. Case and point is the SR556. Never would have happened with senior at the helm. Mosquito is not bad and I am sure your kid would like the looks of it better than a ruger MKIII. Be aware that they are more picky with bulk ammo.Last edited by vta; 01-02-2010, 4:14 PM.Comment

I dont think Sig makes/imports the trailside anymore...I pledge allegiance to the Eagle with the MP5 of the United Police States of America, and to the fallen Republic which once stood, the New World Order under our new overlords, divided, with tyranny and injustice for all.

Ruger Mk II or III is a good choice.Originally posted by luchador768We also had a lot of wannabe gangsters putting the display pistols down thier pants to "try them on.". If you bought a display handgun from the Riverside Turners in the 1990's there's a greater than average chance that there is cholo crotch on it.Comment

I would check out the Beretta Neos and the Walther P22. Both have pretty small, kid friendly grips.Originally posted by bigbob76I'm in the process of de-humping all my Glocks.Comment

Greebo, as a matter of feline pride, would attempt to fight or rape absolutely anything, up to and including a four-horse logging wagon. Ferocious dogs would whine and hide under the stairs when Greebo sauntered down the street. Foxes Kept away from the village. Wolves made a detour. Terry PratchettComment

Ahhh... Its time to let go of that.I despise Ruger thanks to their prior work to push for the 94 AWB and lobbying for a large capacity magazine ban, so they're out.
Bill Ruger is dead and the company now makes and sell guns that use hi (standard) cap magazines now and Ruger includes those mags in sales to the free states
The Ruger 22's are excellent pistols for any level of shootersigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment
