    New Pistol

I want to get my 11 yr old a .22 semi pistol that he would be shooting paper and maybe some light steel targets at. Any recommendations that others have gotten their kids. I was thinking about one of the Ruger target pistols that they have on the website. Any sugestions.

I's akip the Mosquito. I despise Ruger thanks to their prior work to push for the 94 AWB and lobbying for a large capacity magazine ban, so they're out.

      What about a Sig Trailside?

My daughter, 11 yrs too, enjoys shooting my Mosquito. For a Recreation pistol, it's great, punching paper, hitting fruit and soda cans.

any of the rugers would be great. They are not the same company as they were before politically since junior took over. Case and point is the SR556. Never would have happened with senior at the helm. Mosquito is not bad and I am sure your kid would like the looks of it better than a ruger MKIII. Be aware that they are more picky with bulk ammo.

I dont think Sig makes/imports the trailside anymore...

Politics aside, the Ruger is a good 22....

I don't care for the Mosquito...

I have an old Hi-Standard that is a great 22, but it's not for sale...

Ruger Mk II or III is a good choice.

I would check out the Beretta Neos and the Walther P22. Both have pretty small, kid friendly grips.

buck mark... with maybe a Tac-sol barrel...

I bought two 45 and then a 9mm. For my first .22, I got a Mark III and really like the way it shoots. Believe it or not, the Ruger is my first .22

Ahhh... Its time to let go of that.
Bill Ruger is dead and the company now makes and sell guns that use hi (standard) cap magazines now and Ruger includes those mags in sales to the free states

The Ruger 22's are excellent pistols for any level of shooter
