    Kimmel AP9 question?

    Are the Kimmel AP9 are legal to own in Cali? I'll try searching the site but didn't get answer. Thanks in advance...

        As configured from the factory, these are not legal as the magazine well sits outside the pistol grip. You would need a fixed 10 round magazine and a bullet button to make it legal.

          Thanks guys for the reply... So from what I understand the kimmel is not on the DOJ list so it is legal to own as long as it is ca compliant? is there a bb available for this one? Where can I find it? Thank you..

            To make these compliant, people simply hack off half of the regular mag release, to the point where you can no longer activate it without the use of a tool.

                Once the mag release is cut down, it becomes a BB by definition. If it requires a tool to remove the magazine, its then considered a "fixed" magazine firearm, thus legal (as long as a 10 round or less magazine is used).
