    Question about some Sights

I am trying to find some new sights for my Sig P226 I found some that seemed pretty interesting but I was wondering if anyone has had a set or used a pistol with them installed. They are called Advantage Tactical Sight Set.

It seems like a great idea but I don't want to spend the money if they aren't any good.

    Thanks in advance!!

What benefit are you seeking? Speed? Accuracy? I think these are opposing vectors to a point.

Sig contrast sights or Mepros work well enough for me for distances less than 50 yards although, with my aging eyes, I'm considering using the help of Burris Fast Fire 2 for 50 yards.

Personally, I don't think there is anything better than building up accuracy and speed with iron sights to the point of muscle memory and subconscious kicking in, especially for anything less than 25 yards.

If you get them (or anything similar -- I think there are several different options out there), let's see a range report.

    suresight, XS sights, etc.

I'm mostly a believer in 'stock' is good. If there was something better, then it would be offered as stock.

I am not a real big fan of the stock Sig Sights overall because I have a hard time lining up my shot because of the single line rear and the front sight. Trying to find something that will help me out.

Fair enough. Personally, I love the stock Sig sights -- fast and easy for me -- but went with the Mepros for dim light usage. I'm going with Mepro up front (larger white outline) with Trijicon's in the rear.

I'd be all over dot-bar night sights (not too keen on the Heine 8's though) if someone made them.

BTW, are you lining up the tops of the sights and centering the front post? Or are you exclusively using dots and bars for your sight picture? In good ambient light, I think you should be using dots and bars only to quickly acquire your sights, not to actually form the sight picture.

These remind me of the XS big dots, which I've shot and didn't like them at all. IMHO, if you can't use the bar/dot or three dot sights then these really won't do much for you. Take your time learning the sights and trigger, both are key in learning to shoot a SIG well. At what distance are you practicing with your SIG?

Another tip is covering up the rear sight with black tape, that way all you have to do is center the dot and line up the top of the sights. Take your time and keep practicing, speed and accuracy with develop with time.
