Hey guys.
I thought you'd be interested in an experience I had with the gunsmith at Jackson Arms (JA).
My grip safety on my Colt Officer 1911 was not working.
No big deal, since I have the manual safety and the 80 series firing pin safety. I had been meaning to get it fixed at my regular gunsmith, but the gunsmith at JA said he'd do it.
So I dropped it off. A couple days later, he said that I needed a new trigger because mine wasn't long enough. However, the very next day he said that he was able to "lengthen the trigger". I picked it up, verified that the grip safety was indeed working properly, and went on my merry way.
A few weeks later I decided to do a trigger job on my 1911s, since my buddy who knows how to do them was willing to show me.
I strip my 1911 and I see what he's done to my trigger.
In all fairness, his fix did solve the problem. But I'm not really happy with the technique he used - I personally dont' think I would have let something leave my shop like that.
I've attached some pictures - I have more if necessary.
Thoughts?
