Non 45ACP 1911?

I have a Springfield 1911 loaded version chambered for 9mm. I love the gun and am wondering if any other 1911's are chambered for the 9mm? I can't seem to find any other manufacturers?

Colt makes a couple 38 Supers but they can be hard to find in this state. The 9mm is generally just a change in barrel and maybe a little tweak of extractor, so you can look for a Super too and just add a barrel.
Because of the shorter 9mm cartridge length some people have trouble making a 9 run in a 1911 platform, the Super (and big brother 9x23 Win) are generally more reliable in 1911.
If 9mm runs well in yours (and I think the Springfield 9mm mag spacers system is superior) then that is much more economical than Super or 9x23. I am not a 'smith, just my limited experience

I know a guy who shoots a Kimber 9mm 1911. Not sure if it's still made or even CA approved though.

Only Springfield Approved in CA

If you go to the CA DOJ "approved handgun" website and sort the 1000+ approved guns by caliber, you can look quickly at all the 9mm guns approved in the state. I just did this, and only Springfield makes a 1911 style gun that is approved. The company makes 5 approved models (actually only 3, since 2 of the 5 are the same except for ambi safety, which needs separate approval.)

The 3 Springfields approved are the PX9505L with 3.5 inch barrel, and the PI9134L and PX9130L with 5 inch barrels. There are no Kimbers, Colts, STIs or any other brand of 1911s approved in 9mm.

Stealthgoat - I've already got a Springfield in a 38 super, but cost too much to practice with and can't find brass as easy as 9mm's .
I've actually got the Springfield PX9130L. If no other manufacturer is available for us Kalifornian's, I may just pick up another one. Yeah! I like it that much!

I understand, I get the 38S mailorder by the case. However you could also just have a 9mm barrel fitted to your Super Springer a lot cheaper than buying another pistol.
