    Glock 27 = Glock 26 = Glock 22lr ?

I'm getting close to "pulling the trigger" on buying a Glock 26 but I see a 9mm barrel is available for the Glock 27 for around $100 and the '26 does not have a 40SW barrel available.

Does this make sense: Glock 27 + 9mm barrel + AA 22lr conversion gets me 3 different calibers for around $1k. I really just want the 9mm '26 and the AA 22lr slide, but I figure why not get the '27 and have one more option?

If you wish to do a caliber conversion, you can't just use a 9mm barrel in a 40. You have to get a "conversion barrel" from 3rd party. (Like Lone Wolf or Stormlake...etc)

Also, you can't do a barrel conversion from 9mm to 40. The larger barrel of 40 will not fit through the 9mm slide. It have to go from 40 to 9mm.

    So a Glock 27 + Conversion Barrel of 9mm (and 9mm magazins) + AA 22lr = One Glock shoot 3 caliber.

Actually you can get stock Glock 33 barrel for your G27. It will work perfect in your G27 because other than the barrel G27 is exactly the same as G33 (even magazine).

I want to add, if you wish to use this purchase as a home defense or carry arm, I will recommend you to get G26. The 40-9 conversion will lower the reliability a bit. My experience was 1 FTF in my G22 + lone wolf 9mm barrel about 1k~1.5K. While the stock barrel has eat over 3k of any kind of ammo (reloads from Miwall, BB, WWB, Remington... you name it) without a single malfunction.

Makes perfect sense aside from the AA conversions being very hard to find

last I looked there was a G27 for sale in San Gabriel. Look up Micronut's thread. I think the SD G27 is taken. I'm waiting for a G27 to go up for sale in the SF Bay Area.

Nice to have a pistol that can convert to 3 calibers, but it will get old once you buy other pistols in 9mm and 22lr.

Are you shooting reloads in your G22 with a lone wolf 9mm barrel?

I too love being able to change calibers on my glock..

                  I currently have a G35, G17, G23, G19, and a G27 .

                  On my G23 I have a 9mm conversion barrel , .357 sig, and a AA .22 conversion kit. So I can shoot .40s&w, 9mm, .357 sig and .22lr .

And I turned my G35 into a G34 with a 9mm conversion kit from lone wolf.
I find it more picky on ammo, but its also more accurate than my G17.

I agree with others, while it's nice to have a pistol you can convert to three different calibers, I would stay away from using any of the converted calibers as a personal protection setup. If you're going to use 9mm to defend yourself, just get a G26 and worry about a .40S&W gun later. My Lone Wolf barrel I had in my G23 was pretty tight and reliability went down.

Yes, I shot whatever cheap load I can get my hands on. Only ammo I no longer use was wolf military classic. The only two brand of ammo that ever jam in my lone wolf glock were wolf military and WWB (twice each).

You can do it, but you'll also need Glock 26 mags, and I believe that you need to change out the extractor for real reliability.

Thanks, I'd default to the stock G27 40SW Barrel when it gets put away each time. I like the idea of one gun, three calibers and thinking I don't want a collection of guns, but I'm sure many have said that before. Not sure about the 357 option either, that sounds like a lot of kick in a baby glock.

Correct on the AA 22lr conversion backorder, I'm told it's three months.

Oh yeah...we'll throw that back in your face in about 18 months...once the disease has fully taken hold.

Yes, but you can find them 2nd hand (although not usually at any kind of discount). I bought the one for my G17 through the Want Ads on Glocktalk. A quick search there found several for the G26 that were for sale recently. Here is one (although it appears to have sold):
