Trying to sort through some glock fud.

I searched around and found answers on both sides of the fence. So Glock says not to store your weapon with a round chambered.

Is this for safety or wear prevention?
How long does it have to be to be called "storage"?
For those that carry glocks, do you unload every night?
What is your routine for rotating ammo?
Or is bullet set back not an issue?

Do you just leave your gun hot 24x7?

    Safety
Storage is the moment you load your gun and holster it/store it
No, stays loaded (I have a 23 and others)
    I don't rotate ammo

Gun is hot 24/7, you never know when you have to use it one handed.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

If you put the loaded gun in some of the older boxes... you get to hear the sound of the gun going off in your bed room/living room/kitchen/garage/etc....that's why...and if you are storing the gun where unauthorized persons are likely to access it.. most lawyer types would tell you to store the gun unloaded...

safety rule #1... all guns are always loaded all of the time...

in my safe... see rule 1

Storage safety sounds correct to me.
Ammo rotation is not necessary with factory loaded ammo but I "rotate" my ammo by shooting it at least once a month to ensure fresh ammo in my carry gun.

Everyone states not to keep the gun loaded for liability reasons. Keep it chambered, topped off and keep it in a quality holster with the triggerguard covered.

Bullet setback usually ins't an issue, but I swap it out after being chambered 3 times. I marked the rim with a sharpie, after the 3rd time I toss it into my "practice ammo box."

I think part of the reason is you need to pull the trigger to field strip the gun. Some people are stupid and don't understand the basic rules
for firearm safety, just look at the ceiling at any indoor range.
There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

If there's nothing in the hole, then your Glock is just a hammer.

Legal mumbo-jumbo. Fallow the rules of firearms and you will never have a problem. I keep my glock loaded 24/7 in my nightstand safe long with my Bersa for my wife. An empty firearm is a useless firearm. The guns in my big safe are unloaded but the mags/ammo are right next to them.

                    1. All guns are always loaded
                    2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. Keep your gun pointed in a safe direction at all times: on the range, at home, loading, or unloading.
                    3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target (and you are ready to shoot).
                    4. Be sure of your target. Know what it is, what is in line with it and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you haven't positively identified.

Doode, ceilings are better than what I see. I'm scared of the melted lead streaks on the side walls of the indoor ranges and the left and right sides of my shooting stall! and no they aren't mine!
