Just Moved to CA

So, I recently arrived here in CA and filled out the form for the DOJ to register my handguns, mailed it off a couple of weeks ago. I assume that I get some sort of certificate or other form of confirmation that everything is kosher? Anyone know how long this takes?

Just curious because I haven't heard anything.

The CA DOJ is currently running a background check on you (OP), to see if you can legally posses firearms and then you and your handguns will be added to their database. That's why it takes so long. Also, like a good Big Brother, the DOJ will update the handgun registry with your new address each time you notify the CA DMV that you have moved (within CA.)

You will receive one letter for each pistol registered on DOJ letterhead. If you registered 3 pistols you will receive 3 letters ( one for each )
