    To Original To Mod

I just can't bring myself to do it.

My intention was to move from 1911 .45 to 9mm.

    No problem.

    I did that.

Bought the 1990 Combat Commander in 9mm.

Fantastic gun and used it for my 1st IDPA qualifier.

But if I'm going to continue to compete with it, I really need to upgrade the G.I. sights.

    Can't do it.

It would be like slapping a set of Keystone mag's on a '63 split window Vette.

So you are going to buy a new gun vs. new sights?

    WTB used AK MFER.

      Already bought one this morning.

I am not going to cut on a pristine, 1990 Colt Combat Commander slide in 9mm.

      Perhaps you can, I can't.

My mistake for buying it in the first place.

Too late now, but Millett makes an adjustable rear that uses the government rear dovetail. They don't have any fiber optic sights but they do have a nice orange stake-on one.

Kings Gun Works, Tappan sights are a huge improvement and use the GI rear cut and front stake.
