Slide refinishing question.

Due to the turnaround time and a few different vendors, I was considering on getting my Sig P228 slide refinished locally. I was wondering if it would be better to go with a nickel plating/hard chroming or a matte black pwder coating. Has anyone ever had either of these finished done? Is there a way to make the original engraving in the slide a little deeper?

I don't think powder coating will work unless your only doing the outside of the slide.
Give this guy a call, I think his turn around time is a couple of weeks.
