    Glock 23 and weapon light

I heard there are reliability issues with Glock 23 with mounted weapon light. Is it still the case? Can you share your experiences?

I'm ran two different lights on my glock with no problems.

    Streamlight TLR1 and the Itac.

Shot a bunch of rounds through it and never had issues with the light poping off or breaking in any way

    Good luck with it

I thought it was the 22's, but one of the glock .40's used to have a problem with jamming up when a weapon light was attached....something about the weight throwing the frame just out of spec enough that it would cause jams. A few police departments dumped them for that reason.

If you google it, or search here, you will find stories of it happening.

IIRC, they corrected the problem, but I dont know for sure, as I am not much of a glock guy.

I haven't heard of any issues for the G23/light combo. It's mostly the G22's. Glock has a different magazine follower you can get from them and it seems to solve most of the issues. Actually, now that I think of it one of my friends' duty gun is a G23/X300 and I watched him dump a few hundred rounds through it with no issues.

I thought it was the 22 as well.

IIRC, having an added weight made the fram stiff, which in turn allowed the slide to move faster. Unfortunately, the magazine spring could not catch up with the speed of slide moving, so the round would not feed correctly.

It seems like the remedy was to use stronger recoil spring, stronger magazine spring. Supposedly the 4th generation Glock 22 has dual recoil springs.

I had a handful of problems with my G23. You can read the thread here.

Turns out it's a combination of 180gr bullets, weapons light and high cap mags. Change any of those things and it runs. 10 rounders have no problems, even with light and 180grs. It wasn't that big of a loss going from 13 to 10.

I bought a TLR-3, which is much smaller and lighter than the TLR-1 I was using. I also got Wolff extra power springs for the 13s, but I haven't tested that stuff at the range yet.

No problems with my 3rd Gen G23 and the Glock GL2, SF X300, or Viridian Green Laser/Light...
