  • CA. Registered Handguns...

Is there a public website to view what handguns are registered to whom? Or is it hidden in the Government process.
    Thanks,
    Sean

A public list of who owns what?
    I would hope not....

Me too, but I was just curious if there was something out there.

You can find out what guns are 'registered' as having been sold to you, by sending a form to the DOJ.

There's no public place for who owns what, just like you can't find out what cars a person owns.

Just send a notarized letter to DOJ requesting a list of your registered guns- it's on their website. It takes about a month or two to get it.

You'll get a list of all the handguns you DROS'ed, plus a list of assault weapons you own, if any (and .50BMG's starting next year).

I've filled out the form to report a handgun sold as well, but I'm not sure if that removes it from your DROS list or not.
