The Model 1 and Model 2 are CA legal and listed on the DOJ website as such. Does anyone have any experience with these guns? I'm mostly interested in the Model 2 because of its full-length rail, and I'm interested in both guns because of the extra punch of the .50 GI cartridge. I understand that the ammo is expensive because it is proprietary, but it's not like I'd be using the thing as a range gun, so I wouldn't need tons of ammo.

As I once read (and heartily agree with) the 50 GI is a solution in search of a problem. That said I have no experience with it, but have no idea why you'd need anything more than a 45 for home defense (which sounds like the intended use). Any gun that's meant for HD use is not good if it's never shot.

This looks interesting, I may try it out. The claim is that their HP ammo opens up to almost 1 inch in gelatin.

i was tempted for a while to get the glock top

but their brass price is outragious

if say starline or someone makes brass at like 20 cents each and lee comes out with a bullet mold

i would reconsider

OTOH, their JHP price/20 is "only" $25... that's cheaper than 9mm JHP.
