What to buy?

I'm having a dilemma on what to buy between cz sp-01 and springfield armory gi 45. I would like some opinions from fellow calgunners if you were me. I know it's two different animals but should i get the 45 or the 9mm. It will be for sidearm while hunting, HD and range shooting purposes. Thank you.

Hunting I prefer the 45 but in a different platform. All others I much prefer the cz. In my opinion in the trigger and grip feel much better on the cz. Cheaper range ammo to boot.

Both are nice guns. No real bad decision between the two.

If you consider using your firearms for three different purposes, best to go with the .45ACP. I think shooting any kind of four-legged miscreant esp one that just so happens to veer off course or worse, charge you, best to take it out with the stopping power of a .45ACP. Not that the ACP round is known as a magical round for hunting but probably better than such a high velocity caliber as the 9mm.

If you didn't do any hunting, I'd say the 9mm is a more than fine round to shoot and practice with. You'll save a lot of money in the long run.

the best local CZ gunsmith i know...Apex Tactical in Moro Bay...carrys a 1911 he put togrther himself, but he shoots a CZ SP-01 in competition.

neither he nor i wouldn't personally hunt with either, but against a four legged animal, my experience has been that the .45 gives better results.

the CZ would be cheaper to optimize and ultimately more reliable in 9mm

How about a CZ 97 B? A .45 ACP on the great CZ platform, with 10 round mags.
