    QUESTION ON 1911 MAGS

I purchased a Chip McCormick 10 rounder mag for my friends Colt 45.
I have'nt really seen nor examine a 1911 up close particularly the mags.

One thing I noticed when I opened the package and examined the mags, the follower slides forward, out of the mag body by a few mm.

    Is this normal?

McCormick followers like that do not have a skirt on the front which allows them to come forward like that. It's completely normal for that type follower

nah, that's bad, it's defective. That will cause catastrophic jam in your 1911 and seize the action, if not outright explosion.

I'll take it off your hands for 15 dollars, I can use the body and basepad for parts.

              Deal?
